The Atma

The atma is the internal eternal you. It is the heart-of-hearts of every human. It lies in the deep recesses of one’s being and is the source of all true love, peace, joy and happiness.

The atma is the inner radiance of self-effulgent light that shines as love and offers over the inner calm that the individual and the world call peace.

The atma is universal and does not belong to any specific race, color, creed, gender or religion. It is beyond all philosophy and politics. It truly surpasses words of distinction, so it cannot be described or ascribed to anyone or anything in particular, except that it can be said to be the very seat of eternal joy, because its very nature is perennial love.

The atma is also said to be the original source of self-confidence, without which, nothing can be accomplished.

Self-confidence leads to self-satisfaction; self-satisfaction leads to self-sacrifice, and self-sacrifice leads to the realization of self-respect, self-worth and self-esteem, all of which make for the foundation of genuine dignity; and with this, self-realization can be attained.

The atma is the seat of truth and honesty which do not change with the flux of time or the shift of circumstances, nor sway with the formation of any particular situation, all of which move the world to experience the vagaries of the various ages.

The atma is certainly unchanging, indesinent wisdom and discrimination at the highest human level.

The light of the atma is none other than the spark of the Divine. That ember of Universal Light can be understood to be goodness. Goodness manifests as the fulgid human qualities, which in turn manifest as the wondrous human values. Human values in action are none other than what the world calls morality.

Morality then flowers into right action known as ethics and branches off into all the laws, rules and principles by which an equitable and trouble-free society is regulated.

Again, where does the atma lie? It lies within the hearts of all men, women and children, as well as the unborn child from conception. All are entitled to search for it. All are entitled to realize it.

And, what is the atma? The atma is one’s supernal reality the soul – the eternal spark within.
