The human race is the only species of beings endowed with higher intelligence. No doubt that philosophers, religious thinkers and scientific people have had their differences of opinion on this matter, but the one truth upon which they must all agree, is that the human intelligence is endowed with the capacity to distinguish the differences between right and wrong, good over bad, true versus false, real from unreal and lasting as opposed to ephemeral.
The capacity of the human intellect to discriminated yields the premise that the human being has been endowed with the unique ability to discern the distinctions between what is beneficial and what is destructive, which presents the secondary premise that the human being also has the ability of free will to choose and act upon one or the other. This being the case, pundits the world over have told humanity, that the human is born to do good in the world, and that if he does wrong, there is a consequence to be paid.
Every civilized society bases its laws upon this principle of right and wrong and good and bad, for justice cannot be upheld without moral constitution. It is this knowledge which has been understood by the civilized, that has caused them to educate their people in the values of human life.
The underscore of human knowledge depends upon human behavior. ‘If we, as human beings’ – the wise say – ‘do not exercise our rights of nature to reason along proper lines, how will we, as individuals, be able to distinguish what will be of benefit to us and what will not? And if the individual loses the capacity to reason correctly, what can a society do to render justice and peace when it is comprised of such nescient people?’
By rule of nature, it is the duty of all good and wise individuals – whatever their race, color, creed, gender or religion to come to the aid of their fellow man and bestow upon them the fruits of their wisdom and goodness; for without wisdom and goodness, there can be no justice, and without justice, there can be no civilization.
